Travel and Visa Information

Citizens of the EU
For visitors from most countries, Germany requires a passport, which needs to be valid for at least 6 months. EU nationals do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.

Non-EU citizens
All Non-EU citizens require a visa. However, a visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days in an 180 day period for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement.

You may apply for short stay visas (Schengen Visas) at institutions of the German Federal Foreign Office, such as embassies and consulates.

Specific Information for UK Citizens
From mid-2025, UK nationals will need to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization before traveling to Germany or other Schengen countries.

Arrival Details and Getting Around

From Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is well-connected to Berlin’s public transportation network.

By Train and Bus:

Step 1: From BER Airport, take the Airport Express (FEX) train towards Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Central Station). Trains depart every 30 minutes, and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. ​
Step 2: At Berlin Hauptbahnhof, transfer to Bus 245 in the direction of “S+U Zoologischer Garten.” Alight at the “Marchstraße” stop. The bus ride is about 15 minutes.

By S-Bahn and U-Bahn:

Step 1: From BER Airport, take the S-Bahn line S9 towards Spandau and alight at “S+U Zoologischer Garten” station. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. ​
Step 2: From “Zoologischer Garten,” transfer to the U-Bahn line U2 towards “Theodor-Heuss-Platz” and alight at “Ernst-Reuter-Platz.” From there, it’s a 10-minute walk.

Getting Around
Public transportation in Berlin is efficient and well-connected.

Buses & Trams: Several bus stops near the venue provide access to Berlin’s transit network.
U-Bahn (Subway): U2 and U7 lines connect Charlottenburg and Tiergarten to other parts of the city.
S-Bahn (City Rail): The nearest stations are Zoologischer Garten and Tiergarten, both offering connections across Berlin.
